In order to improve the mechanical properties and performance of the tool, it is possible to coat gang saw blades with a layer of hard chromium.

Characteristics:

» Higher resistance to wear - saw blades remain sharp for longer
» Protects saw bands against corrosion
» Smooth cut; band area is not stained with resin

Design:

Layer thickness is optional from 10, 15 and 20 microns; 15 microns is considered the standard thickness.
Hard chromium coating is applied across the entire band width (not only on teeth) and for this reason it can be utilised for the complete service life of the band.

Caution: New saw blades have to be profiled before teeth setting!
